The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. The most significant innovation is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It uses AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with images of objects that it encounters, so that you can tell the robot to stay clear of it.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take a while to download updates and it is sometimes difficult to determine if they are functioning until you actually witness them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best choice is probably hybrid. This kind of robot usually comes with a built-in tank for water which means they can mop and vacuum your home at the same time. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but usually come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock makes some of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model. While it lacks some of the features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great option if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save a few hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles like tables and walls, which makes it a great choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place which many robot vacuums fail. The Q5+'s navigation system is also top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.
The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled with just a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleaning and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and adjust your home map, or change the labels of rooms.
If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it ships with a new auto-empty dock that's specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver to install, but once it's in place, emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also has an impressive LCD display which is great to have when setting up schedules or altering settings. This isn't a necessary feature for the majority of people, but it's one that can assist you in keeping the track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of both vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the best in the industry however it's quite expensive.
The base station looks nice and is easily hidden when not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. The main reason to buy the station is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. The majority of other robots require this.
And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that does very well at picking up debris on plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it could get stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms in the home. It's not able climb stairs as well as some competitors, for instance, and it doesn't have a dock that allows you to set up an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets that are soft.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for a vacuum robot that can do everything.
If you're looking to save some cash or don't want to think about the limitations of this robotic there are many alternatives available which include a variety of eufy models that cost substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example, is cheaper and offers a similar in-app experience with additional features such as the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the right balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted floors, as well as mopping functions at an affordable price. It's easy to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, turn on and plug in the charging dock. The app takes you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be placed near an outlet and have plenty of space to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise and can be placed under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design is more subtle compared to some rival models. It is sleek with a black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The way in which the G30 cleans is what separates it from its competitors. It uses an integrated map to draw a picture of the immovable objects in its path. It keeps track of the things it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. When it's time to recharge, it automatically returns to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it began.
The sleek G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It is faster to charge, has similar battery life and is more effective on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as often and comes with a set of boundary strips to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and it's less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
